Earthquaker Devices released updated versions of a few of their classic effects. I got a chance to check a couple of them out at Winter NAMM 2015.
The Sea Machine V2 is a beautiful and complex chorus pedal capable of wobbling, pulsing, completely submerged chorus tones. Part chorus, part pitch shifter, part short echo/delay; The Sea Machine is an amalgamation greater than the sum of its parts. It produces tones from light and airy, to driving pulse, to ethereal pitch shifts that raise and linger before floating away; or dark and wobbly tones, drenched in sea-sick chorus. This pedal is beautiful, complex and surprising. Make sure you spend some time learning the controls,; it's a very capable pedal that requires a little tweaking to find all its secrets.
The Hummingbird V3 is a reworked version of the Hummingbird tremolo, with expanded control over the oscillation speed. The Mode switch now has a 3rd, even faster setting for glitchy, almost synth-sounding chops. An expression out has been added that lets you control the rate with an expression pedal, allowing for adjustments on the fly. In addition, the JFET part of the circuit has been touched up, and when run with the depth knob turned all the way down, the boost aspect sounds better than ever.
